Patent Pending, All-Natural Cold Processed Hemp Products Hit the Market!
Holistic Hemp Solutions (HHS) completed our Provisional US Patent filing and International Patent application for our innovative Cold Extraction Process, uniquely developed for our all-natural, high quality Full Spectrum Hemp Tincture.
HHS has developed a unique Cold Processing methodology for producing a full spectrum tincture containing all the cannabinoids and terpenes extracted from hemp. More importantly, this process preserves the CBDa, CBGa and CBCa which are known for a variety of uses including supporting a healthy immune system and sleep cycle, while enhancing overall wellness. There is a huge need for a product providing users with an all-natural full spectrum cannabinoid and terpene blend that can assist with a variety of different conditions.
“The fact that the industry still uses the term ‘full spectrum’ on heat extracted products is misleading clients”, says Julie Ann Mejia, CEO and founder of Holistic Hemp Solutions. “Our tincture actually is a full extract cannabis oil (FECO) as we maintain all the cannabinoids and terpenes present in the raw material, and we do not use a heat source which would truly change a full spectrum oil to a broad-spectrum oil.”
Traditional edible and tincture products made from hemp use heat extraction, which destroys many of the beneficial terpenes and cannabinoids. As such, the final product does not contain the full scope of the terpenes and cannabinoids that were in the original hemp before heating and extraction. CBDa, CBGa and CBCa are only found in sufficient quantities in freshly harvested and non-decarboxylated (non-heat treated) cannabis/hemp flower.
The cannabinoids found in our tincture were researched in two recent studies. A study conducted by researchers at Oregon State University found that two cannabinoids commonly found in hemp -- cannabigerolic acid, or CBGa, and cannabidiolic acid, or CBDa -- have therapeutic effects that may benefit general health and wellness, as well as immune support. In another study published in the Journal of Natural Products, cannabis compounds prevented viruses from penetrating
healthy human cells. One of the conditions filed for our patents, was to reduce COVID symptomology, which was mentioned in the following studies.
The creation of these products wouldn’t be possible without the innovative work of CEO, Julie. In 2015, she watched her aunt suffer from traditional cancer treatments. Julie started researching rare cannabinoids and their potential benefits to promote overall wellness. She searched internationally for products containing CBDa and CBGa and was unsuccessful in her quest. In 2017, she made the difficult decision to uproot her life to gain industry experience. Mejia eventually moved to Oregon where she met a medical grower, Steve Hunt, who taught her cold extraction processing on cannabis. During her apprenticeship, she began exploring methods to extract CBDa and CBGa from hemp. Unable to locate a reliable source for these cannabinoids, she started developing her own extraction process and method to produce a tincture containing these compounds. After many years of research and development, she finally achieved her goal. Julie formulated a couple natural full spectrum products that had sufficient quantities of CBDa and CBGa to deliver the numerous wellness benefits she had been searching for. We currently offer two products which are currently Patent Pending and released in limited pre-production batches. Our all-natural “Raw Oil Tincture (FECO)” consistently contains a full spectrum composition of a variety of cannabinoids and terpenes in each batch. Our products are completely organic and grown from the highest quality hemp flower Massachusetts has to offer. The process is capable of reproducing the same results in each batch. The tinctures’ purity is maintained by using only organic raw materials and carrier oils. Our tincture is produced using a cold processing method in organic olive and/or MCT oil, that allows the full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes to be extracted without heat, which means that none of the CBDa and CBGa is lost or damaged in the extraction process. The salve, which needs heat to melt all the compounds down, has an added 500mg of high concentrated broad-spectrum oil in each two-ounce jar. HHS adds a number of other natural compounds to our salve which assists clients with a variety of conditions. These products contain a value of 0.3% or less delta-9 THC. We have filed our Patent for several conditions including seizures, pain, inflammation, anxiety, and immune support to name a few, that will be applicable for all populations (including pets) without harmful side effects.
